A Simple Mission

Panel 1: GM stands against a yellow background, outlined in white to help contrast him from the background. His arms are held out to either side in a shrugging gesture, his sleeves hanging town to reveal pale arms. He looks above him, as if in the middle of rolling his eyes.

“This was supposed to be a simple intro mission:” he says. “Fight some monsters,” A pause. “Save you,”
Panel 2: Veronica and GM are standing at the entrance to the lighthouse facing the interior of the lighthouse, the balcony and the starless sky behind them. Two large wooden doors frame the interior of the entrance, currently open. Part of a green rug can be seen on the floor.

Veronica and GM and stepping into the room, Veronica’s hands crossed over her chest, as she looks at GM with an unimpressed look. GM still has his hands to either side, as he is gesturing more emphatically now, as he continues to explain the purpose of the mission.

“Set up Frank as the long term antagonist,” GM continues. “And then everyone goes back to the tavern, safe and sound.” A pause. “End of adventure,” GM adds.
Panel 3: The following panel is split in two horizontally at a diagonal angle.

#### Panel 3a

Veronica is in front of a solid light blue background, outlined in white. She is facing straight ahead, a neutral expression on her face, as she is staring down GM.

#### Panel 3b

GM is in front of an all yellow background, outlined in white. He has a similar expression to Veronica as the two stare each other down.
Panel 4: Veronica and GM face each other, framed by the stone arch of the door, the night sky behind them. Veronica rests one elbow on her other arm, held out in a dismissive gesture.

“Sounds boring,” she finally says, breaking the silence of the previous panel.

GM glares down at her. “Oh I would like to see you do better,” he says.
Panel 5: Veronica stands in front of a solid light blue back. She is looking to the top and left, her arms held out to either side as she gestures while she talks for emphasis.

“I don’t see what’s wrong with throwing a PC or two out the window to spice things up and teach a valuable life lesson!” she says.
Panel 6: Veronica and GM are standing in front of the two wooden doors to the exterior of the lighthouse, with the balcony and night sky visible beyond the archway. Veronica is glaring at GM, who is fully facing her, his eyes closed.

“You wouldn’t have your panties this much in a twist if a skeleton threw Halfling Horndog out the window,” she says gesturing with her left hand as if to reference one of the skeletons elsewhere in the lighthouse. “Or Frank for that matter!” she adds.

“First of all,” says GM, raising an index finger for emphasis. “The skeletons are on the first floor. If they threw anyone out a window they would lose 5 HP, tops.”
Panel 7: GM stands on the right hand sight of the exit to the balcony. He is looking over his shoulder to where Veronica is off panel, and now has two fingers raised as he makes his next point.

“Second,” he continues. “Frank is a **lich**. Trying to kill a PC is kinda his **job**."

Off panel and to the right, an unknown voice says “Did someone say my name?”
